TETCO ltd. is a privately-owned corporation with an electricity importation and exportation license, and operates, maintains, and develops the power grid, an interconnected system that transmits gigawatts of power at thousands of volts from where it is made to where it is needed from city to city and from country to country. The company performs its goals as transmission service provider in full compliance with the rules and regulations of the regulator, and existing laws governing its transmission operations. Somaliland government has joined with Tetco Ltd through a special purpose vehicle (SPV) to facilitate the purchase power from Ethiopia, to guarantee the two brotherly nations utilize the potential of each other. TETCO LTD. guided by the Ministry of Mineral and Energy policies and the instructions of the Somaliland Energy Commission, intends to supply Somaliland with cleaner and cheaper electricity.
